Wow!! I love this so much Pia. We are going through similar realizations. I started this with a dream, and just last night while watching YouTube videos of Dolly Parton and hearing her speak about her dreams as a little girl and feeling the energy of her dreams in how she spoke about it- it hit me, I've been so busy getting the work out there that I'd already drifted from that feeling. We can't lose that energy in our work, because it animates everything we touch. To your breakthrough and watching what you put out next!! ✨
Oh, I love this. And the Dolly Parton part really stayed with me. There’s something quite wonderful about hearing someone like her talk about the dreams she had as a little girl and still being able to feel that energy all these years later.
I think that’s exactly what I’d lost touch with too. Not the dream itself, but some of the energy and possibility that came with it. I’d become so busy doing the work of building it that I hadn’t noticed the difference.

There were a series of things over the last perhaps 10 years, including Covid and its isolation and the downward slide of society because of the Orange Moron.
I think realising that you miss that part of yourself is significant in itself. It’s so easy for years to pass while life becomes about getting through what’s in front of us.
I hope you find your way back to some of that adventure and fun. Perhaps not by recreating what it used to look like, but by discovering what it looks like for you now.
This is such a thoughtful reflection, Pia. I love the distinction between executing and dreaming. Sometimes we become so focused on building the next step that we forget to leave enough space to imagine the larger life we are building toward. Distance has a way of showing us what our routine quietly crowded out.
I’m so glad those few days gave you that space, Pia. Sometimes we don’t realize what has gone missing until we step far enough away from the usual rhythm to hear ourselves again. Wishing you more room for that kind of dreaming.
